I’ve been in the SEO world for over a decade, starting out as a freelance web designer who struggled to get new customers. I learned SEO to bring in more web design work and ended up outranking most of the local web design companies. That led to businesses asking me to do the same for their Google rankings – and I naturally found myself in the world of SEO.
Since 2020, I’ve been running On Top Marketing Ltd, working with local businesses, national eCommerce brands, and everything in between. In that time, I’ve managed various successful campaigns – and in more than one case, I helped companies on the brink of collapse grow and thrive through consistent SEO work.
Today, I manage a dedicated team of full-time and part-time SEO and digital marketing professionals. I’m heavily involved in creating the systems and procedures that keep everything running efficiently.
I’m known for speaking openly and honestly about what actually works in SEO — not just what’s trendy or theoretical. Whether it’s ranking local businesses, managing a remote team, or systemising SEO so it actually scales, I focus on what drives real-world results.
Outside of my role at On Top Marketing, I’ve run live workshops and currently serve as President of Didsbury Speakers, Manchester’s Toastmasters club, where I help others grow in public speaking and leadership. I also run the On Top Marketing YouTube channel, where I share various SEO and digital marketing tips.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an SEO speaker?
An SEO speaker is someone who talks at events, conferences or panels about search engine optimisation – usually sharing insights, strategies and real-world experience. The goal is to give the audience something valuable they can actually use, whether it’s about Google rankings, algorithm updates or SEO trends. I speak openly about what actually works, based on over a decade in SEO. My talks are straight talking, practical and grounded in lived experience. No fluff.
How much does an SEO speaker cost?
It depends on the event, the speaker’s experience and whether travel and prep are involved – but you can expect to pay anywhere from £500 to a few thousand pounds. My rates vary depending on the event and what’s required, but I always aim to keep things fair and straightforward. If you’re looking for someone who brings real experience, clear communication – get in touch, let me know a bit about your event and I’ll give you a quote.
What types of SEO speakers are there?
Some SEO speakers focus on local SEO, others on affiliate marketing, technical SEO or content strategy. You’ll get some who lean into theory, and others who keep it real and tactical. I talk about what’s worked for me in real campaigns: ranking local/eCommerce businesses, scaling SEO with systems and growing businesses through organic traffic. I don’t pretend to know everything, but what I do know, I’ve tested and I’m happy to share.
Why do conferences book SEO speakers?
Because SEO is constantly changing, and attendees want to stay ahead of the curve. Good SEO speakers don’t just rehash Google’s guidelines; they share experience, case studies and practical advice that people can actually use. That’s exactly my approach. I don’t do fluff or fear mongering – just solid, honest talks about what’s actually working right now and how to avoid wasting time on the stuff that isn’t.
